I love the way rain makes all the colors seem to glow. You’d think it would be the opposite, maybe cause the environment to be more dreary, but not so. Grass is greener, streets have interesting reflections and building colors deepen when the walls get wet.
The little french dog in this painting was inspired by Toby, the tiny Papillon dog who comes to work with our Tricia now and then. He has big butterfly ears and the cutest face, and he’s been coming to see me now and then as I work!
Someday I will go back to France and look for my townhouse. I hope when I see it it’s a rainy day and a french ballerina will be walking her Papillon across the street.
