Small towns bring out great holiday festivities, and our village joins right in on days like the celebration of “The Fourth of July” here in the states. For some reason I get a spirit of nostalgia around this day, and so here are some of my favorite images from past blog posting.

My grandpa Bruce was so handsome back in the day. He came back from “the Great War” and became a preacher.

I am not ashamed to say I think Normal Rockwell was quite a talent in the world of Illustration.

My co-workers at McCalls Quilting Magazine were such a blast to work with. We taught on a cruise for quilters one year, and had some fun in New Orleans during Mardi Gras week.

Happy 4th to you too, Sarah! I did some freelance illustrating for New Mexico Magazine some years ago. And worked for McCalls Quilting, Quiltmaker etc. magazines more recently. I’m fond of NM mag, and it is still published today.
