My January color investigations would not be complete without devising a color palette inspired by Italy, home of my mother’s ancestors. A trip to Florence and Rome in my college years provided a great appreciation of that country’s art and history. It’s no wonder people seem to fall in love with Tuscany.

Yes, I added a splash of pink to my set of colors that say “Italy” to me. It represents a spark of the unexpected a person might encounter on a visit to this place. I don’t want my art to be predictable, life certainly is not!

“Nearly all the best things that came to me in life have been unexpected, unplanned by me”.
