I need a name for this painting and the naming well appears to be dry today. I think it’s because I was so engrossed in my switch to oils from acrylics that when I finally finished, my brain said, “that’s enough! Go get some dinner or take a walk.”
When I worked at the quilting magazine job, one of the more interesting things was going to meetings to name the quilts being sent through the patterning process. Brainstorming is fun for me. But that requires other people, and it’s just me in the studio today.
I think this is a Western Bluebird if that helps. I like the movement of the shapes happening. If you want to throw out some names in the comments section, that would be fun to see! I’m open for suggestions!

Thanks Caroline! I tossed it out there on Facebook and got some brainstorming ideas. I’ll let that simmer for awhile. Cheers!

Maybe something about changing winds or about how the the leaves look like a garland — like they’re wrapping around the bird. 🙂

yes, I like the changing idea, seasons or mood or wind changing. The bird is looking kind of tranquil there though. That may be what is stumping me. Serenity amidst change?

Love this piece. Reminds me of lemons and limes and summer.

Thanks! I kind of thought of that too at first, with the shapes and “sections” of shapes. Thanks for your response!

Oh, that is such a lovely suggestion. Very poetic, thank you. I almost feel like I should make another bird painting with all these wonderful inspiring titles.
