If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost. There is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.” -Henry David Thoreau.

Our painting life unfolds, step by step, color by color, until the day is done. We have a vision in our mind’s eye, however misty or dreamy. Brush to paper brings it alive. An image unfolds with quiet expectation fueling the process. We dream, we work, and sometimes we are even surprised at the outcome.

Discovery is part of the excitement for me, as I paint. Who knows of all the ideas waiting deep in our subconscious minds? And how they surface with each brush stroke… Today I’m a builder again!
