Using Photoshop to make new paintings from an art quilt

“New Splash” study for acrylic abstract painting, from Photoshop studies, 2012

I’ve been looking for new ways to paint gardens, and I came across a Photoshop play piece I began earlier. You can see how this piece developed, with the three smaller images on the right, which came from an art quilt I made.

After rearranging and cropping, I have a study ready for the canvas. The color palette really drew me in, especially the lightest yellow-green accent color. It will be wonderful to work with this palette. I can visualize the garden before me!
