Anna’s Town

Making cityscapes in fabric is so much like making them in paint. (Scroll back to my
“Jazz Town” painting which was also created in layers and in the same color palette.) You can also see more detailed steps of how I made this quilt at my blog for McCall’s Quilting where I’m on the art team:

I’m calling this art quilt “Anna’s Town” for my mom who taught me to sew, along with my grandma Ella, her mom. Anna loved embroidery and crewel-work. She grew up in Chicago and was a city girl. I made this little city quilt with her vintage Necchi sewing machine. Thank you
mamasita! I miss you.
